Blocking In Volleyball Drills

Continuing our series on blocking in volleyball drills. The second step to improve your blocking skills is how far you are from the net. The basic rule of thumb to follow is having your elbows by your rib cage and then extend your arms extended out so your fingertips are just short of touching the net.

This will enable you to jump straight up and straight down without touching the net. Being positioned the proper distance from the net allows you to press over the net without worrying about touching it which would give the other team a point.

One other tip here when discussing the proper distance from the net is you also don t want to be too far back from the net. What happens when you are too far back is the ball can now come down the front of your body between you and the net.

Call today and set up an appointment to come meet with us about the upcoming Club Volleyball season in Phoenix.
