How To Teach Blocking In Volleyball

How to teach blocking in volleyball by the OTL Volleyball coaching staff.

The first step is proper placement of the feet. The player s feet should be shoulder-width apart with toes facing forward towards the net in an athletic stance.

Having your feet in this position puts the hips square to the net which is what you want. If your toes are turned out this will cause your body to open away from the net.

This stance will put any player in position to get the most powerful movement when attempting to block the volleyball at the net.
